IT'S SNOWING!

Starting on Thursday we had 4 days of LOTS of snow, according to the locals, the worst storm of the year. The first day about 15 inches fell and it kept snowing through Sunday. On Friday the schools in Rochester, Palmyra and surrounding areas were closed, the Palmyra Temple was closed and many incoming and outgoing flights at the Rochester and New York Airports were cancelled.

We bundle up in our winter great most of the time, including boots, gloves, scarves, and long wool coats, but no hats!

This is what it looked like out our back door, looking towards the Sacred Grove. This is a three rail fence but only the top two rails are showing. Eventually the middle rail was covered in places.

Steven even got a chance to shovel some snow. Usually our driveway is plowed and we don't have to shovel, but they couldn't keep ahead of the snow this time.

Where oh where are those yellow daffodils and the sunshine?

  1. I'm so sorry you are having such cold weather. I hate to say it; but those daffodiles and sunshine you are talking about, they are here. Spring is in the air and everything is blooming, I know it's hard to hear and we wish you could see them. You are having wonderful experiences, seeing new things and experiencing a different part of the country. It's a blessing to know, that as sure as it's snowing now, it will melt into a beautiful, colorful spring! Hang in there! Miss you both.
